Genealogy...

I've computerized all of the family tree research that I've done, and am making the data available on this site. Hopefully this information will be of some interest to others, and even more important, someone may be able to let me know how to fill in the missing holes in my research!

My data is provided in a standard genealogical format called GEDCOM (GEnealogical Data COMmunication), which can be read by most genealogical software programs. If you don't have genealogy software, GEDCOM is a plain text file format so you can sort of read it using a word processor, but I'd strongly suggest getting a genealogical program (see links below for suggestions).

Grice

Click here to download my latest GRICE gedcom file (depending on your browser, you may need to right-click (or click and hold), and then save the file "Grice2.ged" onto your computer). I've culled out living relatives in the file, so it starts with my great-grandfather, Walter Wilson Grice, and goes back to his great-grandfather, Gabriel Grice. I've listed each of the Grice patriarchs from the file below, with each one's parents following them in the list...

Walter Wilson Grice (Feb 1882 - Mar 1944) Clay County, Alabama
wife: Mary Lovely Osbourn (Mar 1887 - Feb 1969)

John F. Grice (1852 - Dec 1907) Clay County, Alabama
wife: Elizabeth Ann Harris (Mar 1855 - 1909)
Strange Coincidence: In England in 1774, another John Grice married an Eliz. Harris!

Nathaniel Grice (1809 - ?) born in Georgia, died in Clay County, Alabama
wife: Sarah Smith (1815 - ?) born in Georgia

Gabriel Grice (1778 - ?) born in North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia?
wife: Delilah Smith (1782 - ?) born in Georgia?
